Lucy Martin -- Goderich Ontario

Ontario Great Lakes Division
Lucy Martin has a lifetime of volunteering experience that some of us can only dream of!  At 78 years old, Lucy has been a part of The Salvation Army since her early 20's and has been a dedicated Soldier, volunteer and League of Mercy member ever since.  Between the Thrift Store, ushering, Christmas Hampers, Red Shield collecting, Christmas Kettles, visitation, Home League duties, Community Care Services and Pallitive Care,

Lucy stays sharp on her toes, giving of herself in more ways than anyone half her age.  In 2004 Lucy was nominated for 1st Lady of the year in Goderich.  Out of five groups Lucy's name was chosen from 88 members of the Beta Sigma Phi for Volunteerism.  What a surprise and an honor for Lucy - but not a surprise for those who know her and know her work.  "God has blessed me and I hope I bless others!" (Lucy's motto)  Thank you Lucy for all you do!  You are truly a blessing to all those you meet!  Many lives have been touched by your compassion and love!
